| Soundclips |
| Here
are a few soundclips of Mr Lyward, the Chief, from a radio programme
made some 35 years ago. |
| Form
of Hospitality |
| Here
he outlines how Finchden was founded and developed, and the personal
experience that he offered. He goes on describe an aspect of its
integrity and the special quality that he used to refer to, which
helped the Finchden experience keep its shape - stern love. |
| The
Unknown / Faith / Being Loved and Forgiven |
The
interviewer asks Chief whether the spiritual side of Finchden
is Christian or agnostic. The Chief replies by saying that psycopathology
and catagories are no replacement for faith, and that in the end
we are always faced with the unknown. Chief continues by talking
about love and forgiveness, (with reference to social attitudes
in the late '60's) ending with one of his characteristic verbal
winks. |
| Thieves
/ Individual Shape |
| In
this clip Chief uses the language of the psychatrist and social
worker with a degree of discomfort. However, it is clear he is much
more interested in the personal process of individuation than a
person becoming stuck with label that has no real regard for an
internal creative process. |
